Why electrifying excavators is more than replacing diesel

Electric excavators operate under highly dynamic conditions. Slewing, lifting, driving and hydraulic functions often occur simultaneously, resulting in short but intense power peaks. At the same time, available onboard energy is limited and must be managed carefully to maintain uptime and performance.

Simply combining off-the-shelf components rarely leads to a robust solution. Without tight integration between drivetrain, power electronics and control software, machines suffer from unpredictable behavior, inefficient energy use or reduced reliability.
