Dot Robot is on a mission! We apply our state-of-art automation and control technology to solve tough global challenges around sustainable mobility and the energy transition. 

Our tailored electronics and control systems play a pivotal part in the products of our current clients (B2B), and at the same time, we are developing our own proprietary range of products for future clients.

Our lab is focused on electric drivetrains – drive controllers, motors, energy management, and autonomy – for robots and electric vehicles. It’s the best place to witness the integration of our electrical engineering, mechatronics and software skills in action!

About the role

We are looking for full-time (100% or 80%) HBO (higher professional education) electrical engineers, both at a starting level and with experience. You are very good, or you want to become very good, at designing and building the electrical hardware that is at the heart of our electric vehicles, machines and robots. In the field of embedded hardware, you design PCBs and other microelectronics that go into our own drive control units and cloud communication units, for example. You also develop components such as cable harnesses, power distribution units, controllers for power electronics and HMIs that are all needed to bring our products to life.

In addition to designing, producing and testing prototypes and small series is an important part of your work. After all, at Dot Robot we don’t deliver individual designs, but real, functioning products, which means that you are closely involved with our production team to build your designs and apply continuous improvements.

We are what’s know as a multidisciplinary team, so the collaboration with your measurement and control technology, (embedded) software and mechatronics colleagues, and of course with the other electrical engineers, is crucial. Only the combination of all these disciplines leads to a successful product for us.

Since our electric vehicles, machines and robots are mostly built for mobile applications (i.e. they drive, sail or fly) and operate in a wide variety of conditions, energy efficiency, compactness and robustness should be at the heart of your design and thinking. Another very important theme is safety; drivers, operators and bystanders must at all times be able to rely on the premise that our products will protect them as much as possible in the event of disruption or accidents.
